Market Conditions gives a very good picture of where each firm is located in the UC space. On one side are niche players and on the other side are visionaries. Smaller companies also possess small reseller base and face competition from large firms with focused resources and capabilities. For example ShoreTel is a great solution for distributed organizations whereas other firms may offer network centric solutions which are more suited towards their other larger cost offerings. Smaller firms may find it difficult to support large enterprise installations simply because of the lack of resources to develop and maintain such a solution. UCaas is a huge buzzword now in this space and everyone is jumping into this bandwagon to provide “cloud like” services to the market. How much of these bundled solutions can be converted in to UCaas remains to be seen since cloud computing by itself means moving quite a chunk away from the desktop whereas UC tried to proceed in the opposite direction
