According to the latest results, MS Office 2010 seems to be a big hit in India. Office 2010 provides UC service in the cloud and tries to eliminate PC based uncertainties. Interestingly ( and more logically not to affect revenues ) it is positioned as a complement as opposed to a substitute. The cloud computing add-on is called “Web Apps” and the pricing suggests that a fight is on ( the professional edition sells for Rs. 20000 – approximately $500). Google’s next move in this space will probably include their voice application as well.
